I just bought a cable crossover off of Craigslist for only $450, originally it retails for around $1500. So yes I got one hell of a deal. The cable crossover I bought was the GCCO150S model by Body Solid, it's super smooth and built with commercial quality pulleys. What I really like is how you can add more weight plates to the side of the stacks, if you looks closely at the picture down below, you'll notice two poles sticking out of each side to add more weights. This is great because you're not stuck with only 160 pounds.

I was originally looking to buy the Body Solid Cable Machine anyways, looks like I got really lucky. What I did was type in the keywords "cable crossover" in the search box of Craigslist every day I woke up. There wasn't much to look at, most of the cable crossovers on there were old and not of commercial quality. I never gave up and kept on searching Craigslist everyday, I think why a lot of people fail on buying stuff from Craigslist is because they don't have patience. Then they end up going out to a store and buying the product for a very expensive price, when they could of got it for a lot less. Another good site to search everyday for fitness equipment is Ebay, I got my Powertec Leg Machine off of their.

Body Solid currently makes two cable crossovers, the other model is Body Solid Deluxe Cable GDCC250. GDCC250 is great too, but it only goes up to 210 pounds and there's not poles on the side to add weights. Most people won't go past 210 pounds, but if you're a bodybuilder like me you might want to go with the GCCO150S model.

All of the pulleys on these Body Solid cable machines are also stainless steel, along with the poles. This is a big plus since they will never rust and will stay smooth. I like to put silicone on the pulleys to help the machine stay super smooth. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase, I definitely recommend buying fitness equipment from Body Solid. It's a great company to buy from that's for sure!

oscar-mayer-wienersIf you're a sucker for hot dogs, you should try Oscar Mayer's 98% fat free hot dogs. Not only do they not have any saturated fat or trans fat in them, they also taste great. In fact it's the best fat free hot dog I ever tasted in my life. To entice your taste buds even more, add chili and onions, hence a chili dog! Other great things about Oscar Mayer's 98% fat free hot dog is it's filled with 5 grams of protein in each link, making it a great protein source for bodybuilders. Each link is only 40 calories too if you're a calorie worry wart. These hot dogs are made with real turkey and do not have any artificial flavors or by products in them which is very surprising. This is on top of my list every time I go grocery shopping. It definitely is a great food for building muscle.

dannon-lowfat-yogurtWhether you're trying to be all natural like me or just have a hard time finding a great protein source, I would like to share my emphasis on an all natural low fat yogurt by Dannon. I know a lot of people don't like eating yogurt, but if you mix some fruit in the yogurt, the yogurt can become very tasty. For instance you should go to Einstein Bagels and try out their own custom yogurt, it's delicious. Other than mixing fruits with the Dannon Yogurt, make sure you pick up the one that says Vanilla, the other flavors are just horrible.

The top of the Dannon container should say "7 benefits" and "no artificial anything" on it. I really wouldn't choose any other yogurt, a lot of their other yogurts are high in fat and have artificial flavors in them. But lets get back to the topic on hand, this low fat Dannon yogurt is a great protein source. It's filled with 10 grams of protein per serving, there's about 4 serving in each yogurt so that's about 40 grams of protein. It's a decent size container and I know you're not going to eat the whole thing in a day. But, if you eat about two servings per day you can get in an extra 20 grams of protein, that's not bad. I would definitely look into buying this yogurt, I love to eat it after a long workout.

steve-erhardtCheckout Steve Erhardt, this is a case of Plastic Surgery gone totally overboad. He's ruined his body, he doesn't even look human. His pecs actually look like women's breasts. The scary thing is he doesn't see it and keeps getting more surgeries. As you can see from the picture, he has plastic surgery on his face, pectoral implants, bicep implants and also butt augmentation. Those are just the surgeries I remember from the videos and the movie Bigger Faster Stronger.

steve-erhardt-surgeryTake a look at this before and after picture of Steve Erhardt. He looks ok right? In fact he probably could of been a movie star since Hollywood tends to lean towards feminine looking guys. Now he looks like a manipulated plastic doll, it's kind of sad because a lot of celebrities are ending up like this also. I just think our society is becoming too materialistic and worried about their appearance.

Even though this movie talks down on some of our idols and steroids, I find myself going back to the movie and watching it time and time again. I guess it's because I can relate to Chris Bell, I'm in the same boat he's in. A lot of my friends around me are taking anabolic steroids, but I have never taken any. Too worried about the side affects and how it could affect me down the road, it's too scary for me. Plus, I do believe it's cheating! Working out and bodybuilding suppose to be about staying healthy, not taking drugs.

Chris Bell covers both sides of the story which I like. He interviews people who believe steroids aren't super bad for you like the media portrays and the other side who believes they can have devastating affects. It was incredible to see Chris interview Carl Lewis, an American hero. He also interviewed his friend Paul who once starred in the movie "Over the Top" with Sylvester Stallone. A lot of people call Chris Bell cold hearted for interviewing Paul because he kind of portrayed him as a loser and he didn't want to end up like him. I don't think Chris Bell saw it that way. I think Chris is an overall good guy, I mean no one wants to end up living out of a van plain and simple.

I think this movie opened up a reality that a lot of people have been ignoring for a long time. Pro sports are getting ruined, people are becoming materialistic, and life as an American is getting out of control. Chris sees it, but I don't think a lot of other people see it, even after the movie. A lot of people will just watch it and look the other way, they just don't want to deal with it. Reality is everyone needs to come together and remove all this crap from our society: steroids, materialism, and plastic surgery. I would really like to see Chris Bell come out with a sequel or maybe do a documentary on another part of Bodybuilding. There's so many real life TV shows nowadays, maybe he should have his own show on him and his brothers lives.

rocky-4-movieIf you're looking for a way to get pumped up during your workout, checkout Rocky IV, it makes a great workout video.

Both actors Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren play the boxer role really well, I thought Dolph Lundgren was just terrifying in the movie. I mean can you imagine going head to head with a monster like that, I think in real life he would of wrecked Stallone, he's just got too big of an arm reach.

Also thought Carl Weathers was great in the movie also, Weathers is always in great shape. The music was just superb, I attached my favorite pump up scene down below as a YouTube video. If this movie doesn't get you pumped up there's something wrong with you!

These are all my favorite muscle movie I like to watch before I workout. All are filled with celebrities who are in great shape and have been working out for years.

  • Predator - The Sci-Fi classic that has all the biggest bodybuilders in hollywood, this is my favorite of all time.
  • Bloodsport - Jean-Claude Van Damme plays Frank Dux as the ultimate martial artist.
  • Rocky - Rocky IV is definitely my favorite out of the series, Dolph Lundgren and Sylvester Stallone really go at it in this movie.
  • Fight Club - Weird and all, but has some really good fight scenes in it. Brad Pitt is ripped and Edward Norton gives a spectacular performance.
  • 300 - The fight scenes were amazing in this movie. Gerard Butler was shredded in this movie, it would be great if I could get a six pack like his in this movie.
  • Pitch Black - What can I say, I'm a big Vin Diesel fan. The guy is in great shape and plays a cool sci-fi super hero, could this be Arnold's replacement?

This is when Kevin Levrone was a young bodybuilder, it's an oldie but a goodie. He goes through all his personal exercises to put big mass on his arms.  Kevin Levrone was one of the largest bodybuilders on the circuit so listen up:

  • Kevin Levrone does tricep press downs with a cable crossover for his triceps.
  • Then he does straight bar curls for his biceps.
  • Next is standing alternate dumbbell curls, great for adding a peak to your biceps.
  • Seated hammer curls are my favorite, this is where you can get your bicep fully developed.
  • Overhead dumbbell extensions are perfect for the back part of your tricep.
  • Close-grip bench presses with add size and power to your triceps.
  • Kevin finishes off his tricep exercises with dips, this will competely pump up your triceps like baloons.

Over the last few years I've been wondering why some people are investing in some of these cheap ab machines. Why not just do simple sit ups? It's quick, easy, and affordable. I think it's because of the burn, people don't want to feel the aches and pain. They end up buying all these machines thinking it will be easier, it's so stupid. Personally I'm sticking with the sit ups!

This is not a bad idea, but do you really need self spotting for dumbbells? It's not like they are going to fall on you. I do like the pulley machine though, it looks very smooth. Great for working out your lats! I wonder how much this machine will cost when it comes out? Dumbbells alone are $500+, who's going to buy a self spotting bench for an extra $750? Not me that's for sure!
